Wordle Chinese ("we", "the site",
wordlechinese.com) is a free, browser-based word puzzle game.
This page explains what data the site processes and why.
Wordle Chinese does not require an account, does not ask for personal information, and does not store any data about you on our servers. The site is a static web application: all gameplay logic runs in your browser.
Your browser's localStorage is used to remember which idioms you have played, your guesses for the current puzzle, your preferred language, sound volume, and similar settings. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time from the in-game "Clear database" option, or by clearing site data in your browser.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate
usage of the site — for example, how many people play each day and which
languages they use. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies (such as
_ga) and processes a limited set of technical information
(device type, approximate location, referring URL). We do not associate
this data with any personal identifier.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Wordle Chinese may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. You can review Google's advertising policies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads, and you can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads.
The site links to external resources (e.g. dictionary sites such as Baidu or ZDIC, the original Wordle, GitHub). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Questions about this policy can be sent through the GitHub repository linked in the site's "Feedback" section.
